We’ve signed Neymar!!!!
My charity Handicap International has signed up Neymar, the world’s most expensive footballer to be its new global Ambassador.
As Chair of Trustees of Handicap International UK I’m delighted that Neymar has agreed to work with us on behalf of disabled children around the world. In this age when so many football millionaires are seen as self indulgent it’s uplifting to see a sportsman who’s keen to give something back to millions of the disadvantaged.
Neymar, who was transferred from Barcelona to Paris St Germain for £200 million this summer, has already sent a message calling for people across the world with disabilities to be fully included in society. He says he’s keen to support greater access to prosthesis for land mine victims and children who’ve lost legs in conflict.
“Millions of people want rights, they want to be treated better” says Neymar, “That’s what we’re here for and that is what our aim is. I’m happy to do whatever I can to help”.
Neymar says he’s looking forward to his first trip into the field to see Handicap International in action saving lives.

Paris Saint-Germain’s world-record signing showed he is still on a high after his £200m transfer from Barcelona.
Neymar took to a 39 ft chair statue to perform a kickabout on a giant chair statue to help support landmine victims, much to the delight of a crowd of fans watching on.
The 25-year-old forward showed off some skills at the United Nations’ HQ in Geneva, taking part in the stunt in his role as ambassador for Handicap International.
